Project description
A fashion storefront where the checkout is the product
The Challenge
A clothing brand's website is usually a lookbook with a contact form. The transaction happens somewhere else — a DM, a transfer, a spreadsheet — which means the brand cannot see its own sales and the customer has no record of theirs.
Payments in Nigeria mean Paystack and naira, with the failure modes that come with them: a declined card is common, a webhook can arrive twice, and an order that exists without a payment is worse than a failed one. Product imagery is the other constraint — it has to be fast on a phone and manageable by somebody who is not a developer.
The Solution
A React 19 storefront with an Express API behind it: catalogue, cart, checkout through Paystack, order records, and an admin where the shop owner manages products and stock without touching code. Cloudinary handles product media so images are delivered at the right size for the device rather than uploaded at one size and served heavy.

The hard part
Payment integrity. The order lifecycle has to be driven by verified webhooks rather than by whatever the browser reports back, and it has to be idempotent so a repeated webhook cannot produce a second order or a double charge in the ledger.
The Impact
Deployed and running: a storefront, a working checkout on Paystack, an order record the brand owns, and an admin that a non-developer can run. It is the most conventional product in this portfolio and it is deliberate — commerce is a place where doing the ordinary things exactly right is the whole job.
