Streetverse
Project description
A Lagos street game where the hustle is the mechanic
The Challenge
Nigerian street life is a set of systems — navigation, negotiation, timing, fuel, traffic — and almost none of it appears in games, which tend to render the city as a backdrop and the hustle as violence. The interesting part is the logistics.
A browser has to render a city, and a player has to understand the loop within seconds of arrival. Both of those push against loading a heavy scene up front.
The Solution
A 3D city rendered in three.js with the game loop built around courier shifts: pick up, navigate, deliver, earn fictional naira. The economy is the difficulty curve — time and fuel are the constraints — so the game is about route decisions rather than reflexes. The rendering is split into chunks so the city can stream in without the first frame waiting on all of it.

The hard part
Getting a playable frame budget out of a phone browser while still having enough city to make navigation meaningful. That is a chunking and detail problem before it is a rendering one.
The Impact
Playable in the browser, with the city, the shift loop and the economy working. Fictional currency throughout, deliberately — it is a game about the decisions, not a simulation with real money in it.
